Plateau New CP Takes Office Vow Hitch Free Sallah

The latest Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command Mr, Peter Babatunde on assumption of few days before Sallah has vowed to deal with criminal elements seeking to take advantage of the celebration to breach the prevailing peace in the state both during and after Eid-el-Kabir festival.

CP Peters while addressing newsmen in Jos yesterday stated that all Divisional Police Officers across the state had been placed on alert to monitor all places of worships to avoid breakdown of law and order.

His words, “I have directed my men to be at alert, there was a show of force on Friday. To fully show the people that we are not taking things for granted, security men would be deployed to all strategic places to protect lives and property both during and after the Sallah celebration”, he said.

He enjoined the good people of Plateau to exhibit good virtues and conducts during the forthcoming sallah festivity as the present fragile peace on the Plateau cannot be toyed with under any guise.

Consequently, the new CP said security is a collective responsibility, revealing that his command had placed opinion boxes in various places for suggestions and information from the public.

On the high rate of crime the commissioner of police said the Command has step up its patrol in all the dark and flash spots across the state and charged the people to furnish the command with information on any hideout of criminal elements.
