The controversial results for House of Representative and Senate in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, has finally been announced by the collation officer engaged by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), after five days of intensive pressure mounted by the public.

The February 23rd Presidential and National Assembly elections held last Saturday, left everyone guessing the outcome of the Jos North LGA results, as INEC said the collation officers in the area muddled up the process hence delayed the result until grey areas be sorted out.

However, on Thursday, Professor Christopher Vande, collation officer for Plateau North Senatorial District, announced the result for the House of Representative excluding two wards, Tudun-Wada/Kabong.

The results announced showed that the All Progressive Congress (APC), scored 87,321 while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), polled 53,416 votes.

The elections for House of Representative consequently was declared inconclusive because Tudun- Wada/Kabong ward result was cancelled, hence a re-run will be scheduled by INEC on a later date.

However, for the Senate result announced, APC scored 171,233 will the PDP, secured 269,555 votes.

By this result, Istifanus Gyang of the PDP was declared winner of the Plateau North Senatorial zone.

Gyang is the current lawmaker representing Barkin-Ladi Riyom federal constituency at the National Assembly.
