The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the two state Assembly supplementary elections conducted in Taraba state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The supplementary elections set aside by INEC in the two local government areas were attributed to the results of the two constituencies that were declared inconclusive by the electoral body on March 9 as a result of over -voting.

The two local governments are, Ardo Kola and Ussa.

The INEC Returning Officer for Ardo Kola, Dr. Ezekiel Iliya of the Federal University, Wukari while declaring the result at the local government collation centre in Sunkani, said Dominic Bukini polled a total number of 22, 583 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aliyu Mohammed of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 19, 408 votes.

Bukini is the incumbent legislator who won through a re-run election conducted by INEC to replace the late assembly member, Emmanuel Dame, who died last year.

Also at Ussa state constituency, the Returning Officer, Fave Bulus said the PDP’s Habilla Timothy Anderifun defeated his other contenders by scoring 9, 434 votes while his closest opponent, Kurutsi Yakubu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) scored 1, 057 votes.
