PDP chairmanship race: Youths chase Dokpesi out of Kogi

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship aspirant Chief Raymond Dokpesi was chased out of Lokoja on Tuesday by irate PDP youths after consultation with delegates at the PDP secretariate in Lokoja.
Dokpesi, who was in Lokoja in continuation of his campaign for the leadership of his party, incurred the ire of the youth for his late arrival and refusal to address them as veritable stakeholders of the party.
The aspirant who arrived Lokoja at about 8.15 pm, gave some un convincing reasons for keeping them on standby for over 8 hours, apologised for the un necessary delay urging them to keep faith in the party.
Addressing the few party fEcecutive Committee of state and the delegates headed by the Deputy Chairman, Hon Sam Abenemi, Dokpesi said that the entire Kogi delegates should consider his role in the 2015 election in the state, pointing out that he was the only one among the aspirants that supported PDP in Kogi State.
The aspirant therefore reminded them of his role in the installation of two Governors Ibrahim Idris and Idris Wada as well as the lost Presidential election of 2015.
He claimed to have marshalled necessary resources to ensure victory of the party in the previous elections and therefore urged them to pay back.
The Deputy Chairman of the party, Hon Sam Abenemi assured the aspirant that the kogi chapter of the party in Kogi will continue to be loyal to the party and has not adopted any aspirant for tor the Chairmanship.
He wished the aspirant good luck.
While departing the premises of the PDP secretariat of the party, the youth booed and attacked kwon supporters of Dokpesi.
Some of the youth were heard in hushed discussions, saying that how can Dokpesi who cannot pay his AIT staff be chairman of the party.
