Opera software company launches transport system “OBus” using mobile app.

Opera Software recently revealed an added pruduct/service in nigeria. The addition of Obus to several other services opera has in its trade projects a great statrtup to the bus-hailing service called OBus.

Shortly after Otrike (a tricycle-hailing service) was launched,  OBus came afterwards to join the list of services the opera company offers to resolve the transportation challenges in the hub of the country’s commercial district (Lagos) and other prominent states in the nation. The emergence of the Obus company puts the company on course to a market dominance in multiple platforms in nigeria.

The traial version of the OBus is currently available in few parts of lagos state. Opera company plans to start off the service by providing branded buses for commuters within lagos state for interstate transportation. However if the plans work out as espected there will be an expansion of market target.

OBus, has been incorporated into the OPay app like all other Opera-backed services. there is a platform available for riders to make ride request with the Opay app and make paymets within the app via the OPay wallet. Riders will also pay for trips using the “Obus card” that will be purchased from offline agents at various locations.

The OBus card comes in different financial value and during bus trips, the card will be scanned by a sensor (which reads the ticket barcode on your OPay app) transactions will only be made via card onboard Obus.

OBus is a welcomed innovation coming form the stables of opera software company in nigeria’s commercial-tech world force and  another great step in the right direction in Opera’s plan of becoming a force in the Nigeria commercial-tech space.
currently, opera has about five services (OPay, OBus, ORide, OTrike, and OList) all within a year, no one can predict the next innovative move the Norway based company is about to dive into.
