Olasunkanmi Adisa of N0 4 Olorunwa Street Ilesamaja,Isolo, a 40-year-old resident of Isolo, is living in fear for his life and the safety of his family after witnessing a harrowing murder carried out by a notorious cult near his office on 3rd of August 2022.
On a seemingly ordinary day, Adisa was a firsthand witness to a brutal act of violence perpetrated by the deadly cult, an incident that has since upended his life. The gruesome murder, which took place mere steps from his workplace, has thrown Adisa into a state of constant terror. Since that day, he and his family have been forced into a nomadic existence, moving from place to place in a desperate bid to stay ahead of the cult’s reach.
The Isolo community has long been a battleground for rival cults, with frequent clashes that have left residents living in perpetual fear. Night after night, the sound of conflict keeps the eyes of Isolo’s inhabitants wide open, unable to find solace even in their own homes.

For Adisa, the ordeal has been particularly harrowing. “My life has become a nightmare,” he confided. “We can no longer stay in one place for long, and my children are scared. We are always looking over our shoulders, unsure of what might happen next.”
Despite repeated pleas for protection, the Nigerian police have been unable to offer any tangible guarantees for Adisa’s safety. The failure of law enforcement to effectively tackle the cult menace has left many residents disillusioned and desperate. The sense of abandonment is palpable in the community, where fear has become a constant companion.
As the cults continue to exert their influence and instil fear, Adisa’s story is a stark reminder of the urgent need for comprehensive security measures and effective policing in Isolo. Until then, the residents, including Adisa and his family, remain at the mercy of these violent factions.
