Okowa salutes David Mark at 69
Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on Friday hailed former Senate President, Senator David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark, as he turns 69 years on April 8th, 2017.
In a congratulatory message on Friday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Governor Okowa extolled the leadership qualities of the former Senate President describing him as a democrat, astute administrator and a leader of impeccable disposition.
According to Governor Okowa, the sterling contributions of Distinguished Senator Mark to the development of Nigeria and the legislature is legendary, commendable and worthy of emulation.
Okowa said, “On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I wish to felicitate with Nigeria’s foremost lawmaker per excellence, the most ranking and distinguished Senator David Mark, on the occasion of his 69th birthday anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 8th 2017.”
The Governor noted that the remarkable achievements recorded by the sixth and seventh Senate was unarguably due to Senator Mark’s indefatigable role as the President of the sixth seventh Senate.
He particularly extolled the intelligence with which Senator Mark piloted the affairs of the National Assembly when he served as President of the Senate.
“In a life that has seen you clock the enviable age of 69 years amidst your achievements in public service and political endeavours, which includes your record election into the Senate for a consecutive 6 times, and your emergence as Senate President for two tenures, there is great cause for you, members of your family, your many associates, protégés and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His benevolence upon you.
“As you deservedly celebrate this birthday, it is my prayer that Almighty God continues to bless you with robust health and many more years of happiness.
“I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 69 years of a life of forthrightness and outstanding patriotism with which He has blessed you.”
According to Aniagwu, the Governor wishes Senator David Mark, a very happy 69th birthday celebration and prays that God Almighty grant him many more years of good health and strength to continue with his devotion to making Nigeria a society governed by the tenets of rule of law and justice.
