Ojo Maduekwe fumes over Abia A’Court verdict

The Appeal Court judgement, which nullified the election of the Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu last week Thursday has continued to ellicit condemnations from Abians.

The former Nigerian Ambassador to Canada, Ojo Maduekwe, who paid a solidarity visit to Governor Ikpeazu, leading political stakeholders from Ohafia Local Government Area, described the judgement by the Appeal Court, as strange and unusual.

Maduekwe, urged the Supreme Court to ensure that a decision that will be consistent with the aspirations and desires of the people of the state, as democratically expressed in the last election, will be the final outcome and called on the people to avoid anything that will disrupt the peace of the state.

Maduekwe, who was in company of the Deputy Governor, Udo Oko Chukwu, said they were in Government House to encourage him to be committed to the democratic process.
