OFFICIAL: Maikaba quits as Wikki Tourists coach

The tactician will not be in charge of the Bauchi Elephants next season, as he handed in his resignation following a meeting with club authorities

Abdul Maikaba has resigned from his post as coach of Wikki Tourists, less than one week after the conclusion of the Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The coach led to team to a third-place finish on the Nigeria topflight log – which handed them a place in next season’s Caf Confedereation Cup.

He becomes the third person to vacate his post following the departure of Fidelis Ilechukwu and Mohammed Babaganaru from MFM FC and Kano Pillars respectively.

Maikaba has been heavily linked with a move to two-time African champions, Enyimba and FC Ifeanyi Ubah – as the clubs shop for a new handler after a disappointing season.
