NOC, SFAN set for Olympic Day celebration

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) in conjunction with Sports for All Nigerians (SFAN), are fully set to join the rest of the world in celebrating the 2017 Olympic Day which comes up on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

Chairman of SFAN, Prince Henry Amike revealed in Lagos that his commission is working round the clock to ensure that Nigeria participates fully in the event which takes place annually.

To this end, Amike informed that the NOC in conjunction with SFAN, are having series of meetings with Fitness Clubs to ensure that nothing short of a hundred percent record is achieved this year, just the way it was in 2016 and previous years.

Meanwhile, NOC President, Engr. Habu Gumel has appealed to Nigerians to come out in their thousands for the event which not only promotes health but ensures physical well-being of every individual.

In Lagos, the Executive Governor of the State, Akinwunmi Ambode, is expected to flag-off the event at 7am at the National Stadium, while participants will jog through the National Stadium down to Ojuelegba, from there to Falolu and move down to Marsha before heading back to the National Stadium car park where the programme will be rounded off with funfair which includes aerobics and musical jamboree amidst other side attractions.
