NNPC assures Nigerians of high-quality fuel, warns against misinformation

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has reaffirmed the quality of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) dispensed at its retail outlets, dismissing recent claims suggesting otherwise as baseless misinformation.
In a statement issued by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company described a viral video alleging that NNPC fuel lacks durability as misleading and unverified.
“The assertion is entirely unfounded, originating from amateur research that lacks credibility, accuracy, and professional oversight,” Soneye stated.
He emphasised that NNPC fuel is formulated to meet high industry standards, ensuring efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability. He also revealed that a significant portion of the PMS sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos is sourced from the Dangote Refinery, a strategic partner committed to quality and energy security.
Soneye condemned the viral video as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish NNPC’s reputation. He warned that the company would take legal action against individuals or groups spreading false information about its operations.
