NIPR commends FCT minister over security, infrastructural dev’t
The Chairman, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), FCT chapter, Dr. Tayo Haastrop, has commended the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, over the accelerated infrastructural development in the territory as well as the overall improvement in the security situation in the capital city.
The NIPR boss made these remarks when he led a strong delegation from the Institute to pay a courtesy visit on the FCT Minister in his office recently.
He said: “Abuja has witnessed tremendous changes both in security, opening of the roads, completion of infrastructure projects, sanitising land administration processes in the FCT among others. Abuja has been developing at such exciting and unprecedented speed.
“Before now, to go to Karu, you will spend hours. But when I was coming back, I drove down the bridge and I found myself in Area 11. This is a very great achievement.
“Many of the satellite districts of Abuja, especially in Lokogoma used to be known for robbery incidents, but because of your good collaboration with the Inspector General of Police, now we have policemen everywhere and we can sleep well in the area and other districts of Abuja, thanks to the prompt action of the Minister.
Also, we are beginning to see some improvements on street lightings recently.”
The NIPR boss stated that the purpose of the courtesy visit basically was to strengthen the existing relationship between the Institute and the FCT Administration in lieu of the positive impact the institute has witnessed in the FCT.
The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, in his response to the address by the NIPR chairman, expressed appreciation of the contribution of the members of the institute in promoting the positive image of the country.
The Minister espoused the necessity for giving quality service in the country and sued for the partnership of the institute in promoting attitudinal change in the country, especially the anti-corruption campaign of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Malam Bello assured the delegation of FCT Administration’s support towards the successful hosting of the NIPR’s forthcoming AGM conference.
