Nigerian-born Tomori delighted with Chelsea debut

Nigerian-born Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has said he has taken a big step after he finally made his first-team debut for ‘The Blues’.
The 18-year-old came on for Branislav Ivanovic in the final Premier League game against Leicester City last weekend and he said it has been an amazing time for him.
“My debut capped it off brilliantly. It is a step in the right direction,” Tomori enthused.
“If at the start of the season someone had told me this would happen, I would have said, ‘Steady…!
“But I am thankful to God that it has happened and I have taken every game as it comes, making sure I am developing in training and doing what I need to do to improve, and it has kept on getting better for me.”
The central defender is highly rated and while he currently plays for the Canada – where he was born – at the U-20 level, he is still eligible for England, where he has lived since he was a toddler and also Nigeria, through his parents.
