Netherlands hit 7 against Gibraltar

Netherlands swept aside Gibraltar with a 7-0 win. It was only 1-0 at the break, with Berghuis breaking the deadlock 41 minutes in with a curling effort.

Netherlands were clinical in the second half though with Luuk de Jong netting a second at the near post before they added three more in a four-minute period through Depay, Wijnaldum and Malen.

Van de Beek came off the bench to slot a sixth past Gibraltar before Depay rounded it off with a close-range tap-in for his second of the game.

That win lifts Netherlands up to second in the table, above Montenegro and Norway on goal difference.

Their attention will now be turning to the Euros in June.

As for Gibraltar, they stay rooted to the bottom of the table after losing their first three qualifiers and they’ll be hoping to do better against Latvia in September.
