…Opens direct hotlines for Nigerians across the globe
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has disowned an online job recruitment website attributed to the ministry for job recruitment.

The Website advertised vacancies for 16,200 local job positions for Nigerian embassies in 26 countries around world including the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom among others.

Describing the vacancy link as the handiwork or fraudsters, Dr. Tope Ade Elias-Fatile, the Spokesperson for the Ministry said that no such thing exists as the Ministry does its recruitments through the Federal Civil Service Commission.

He said, “The attention of the Ministry has been drawn to the fictitious news that there are 16,200 vacancies in Nigerian embassies in 26 countries around the world which include USA, Australia, Canada and London.

“This is false as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not placed such adverts for employment in any of the Nigerian embassies outside the country.

“The rules of getting employed into the civil Service is clear within the country. The adverts will be placed by the Civil Service Commission and if it is internal, then it is from the Ministry. The Ministry did not issue any adverts not to talk of on foreign missions.

“Even in foreign embassies, over there they are called local staff and even as local staff they have to do with each mission.

“There is no employment of local staff in most of the missions”.

He urged the Media to make the information public so that unemployed Nigerians will not fall into the wrong hands.

Meanwhile the Ministry also made available some dedicated numbers where Nigerians from all over the world can reach the Ministry seamlessly.

He gave out the numbers thus: 08023099864, 08112853135, 09060888894 and 09021000900.
