Meet Mrs O, the music producer turned fashion stylist

Mrs. Pamilerinayo Ogunba aka Mrs. O is a producer, philanthropist and entrepreneur. She is the founder of A & O Records & also the CEO of ANIKEADE OLOGE brand, an e-Boutique specialized in providing clients with luxurious fashion services and middle Eastern custom pieces tailored to meet their individual needs.
Our reporter recently chatted with her on the telephone. Below are the excerpts of the conversation.
What’s your full name? How did the name Mrs. O come about?
My name is Boluwaji Pamilerinayo Ogunba aka Mrs O. Mrs O stands for (Ogunba) my husband’s name
Where were you born, where are you from?
I was born in Lagos State, but I am from Ondo State
Why did you put your career on hold to pursue your fashion and styling brand?
It all started like a dream after school when I realized I was always picking out pieces for my friends and family to wear to events. I decided to make a career of it and I am enjoying every bit of this fashion world
So how did the love for fashion, bags and luxury items start?
I have always loved bags, the only difference from then and now is the Taste in Luxury items. As children, my siblings and our friends always played dress up and I loved carrying my mum’s bags to show off.
So what was it like, trying to launch the Anikeade Ologe brand?
The Anikeade ologe brand is all about luxurious modesty. It wasn’t easy starting out, there were a lot of challenges getting fabrics from suppliers and hiring the right people but there’s no regrets so far. I am always filled with joy whenever I see any woman rocking my brand or pieces.
Tell us about the A & O brand?
The Anikeade Ologe aka A & O brand simply means luxury. They are custom made ready to wear African contemporary pieces.
But why fashion and luxury pieces after gaining your B.SC & Masters too?
We are in a country where a Bsc is not really appreciated not to talk of Masters but this is a story for another day
What do you love to do, besides music/fashion?
I love Shopping. When I am sad or worried or happy I simply shop either for fabrics for my brand or for my personal needs.
What advice do you have for fashions enthusiasts and people who want to start living a luxury lifestyle?
My advice for fashion enthusiasts would be to stay true to their passion and keep pushing until they are able to reach their desired goal. If they have the means to live a luxurious lifestyle, they should by all means
Got anything cooking specially for 2021, any partnerships, collaborations or events you want to share with your fans and everyone reading this?
All I have to say is ‘ watch this space’ there is so much in the bag that I can’t wait to unravel.
What is your greatest fear in life?
Not being able to get my Hermès bags * laughs* but on a serious note . I think not being able to put a smile on people’s faces
How do you maintain your lifestyle with the covid lockdown and restrictions?
First of all, there were a lot of lessons learnt with the lock down and restrictions which I am sure most people are grateful for. A lot of businesses are online based thereby we do not necessarily have to meet in person to be able to trade. At first it was a bit difficult but we made it to irk ultimately.
What has been your biggest lesson since you founded the Anikeade Ologe brand and became an entrepreneur?
To always keep my word and never give up.
It is not everyday you see women who own/run music labels. What made you set up a record label?
Whenever I tell people I am a music producer they are always skeptical and their first question is how come? I love music and I see a record label as another business venture and I want to be the first Nigerian woman to own and successfully run a record label. I also want to use my platform to help upcoming artists which Nigeria has an abundance of.
What should your fans expect from Mrs. O this year?
We just launched a new collection in February and we are already taking orders. I am looking and doing a runway show this year to showcase the Anikeade Ologe fashion line. We are also going to be unveiling our new artistes soon.
Thank you for your time Mrs. O we wish you well in your planned ventures.
