While statistics show that the national marriage rate and divorce rate mirror one another, I find myself wondering if wedding cost could be an indicator of whether a marriage will last. One could hypothesize that couples who spend more on weddings are superficial or care more about status and material things than the meaning behind the marriage. But it could also be reasoned that people with more money are less likely to stay in a bad

Lower income couples on the other hand may feel more inclined to try and work things out due to financial dependence on one another. What do you think?
