Man,26, Goes Into Hiding After Brutal Killing of Cousin, As Plots Against Him Heighten

Pandemonium erupted at no 51 Arbico Street Upper Sakponba Benin City, as local residents watched helplessly a near-death situation when suddenly unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Black-axe confraternity (Ayes) trailed a 26-years old young man identified as Usiosefe Esosa to his family house and fired sporadic gunshots in the atmosphere sending residents to immediately scamper for safely, it was confirmed

Tragedy was however averted as Usiosefe Esosa who narrowly escaped death by the whiskers immediately after returning from an errand for his aged mother instantly noticed the unusual presence of cultists from his own end at the backyard and immediately dashed off by escaping through a bush-path .

The suspected cultists had been on his trail a week after he witnessed the gruesome murder of his cousin’s murder on September 5th 2024 in Obagie Non-Kenporo a remote community in Ikpoba-Okah local government area of Edo State while on a vacation at his(cousin) place.

His cousin popularly known as Austin a.k.a Austin “99” is a known member of another dreaded rival cult group known as Eiye confraternity .

Austin “99” who operated as the co-ordinator of Eiye confraternity in his community was tragically murdered in a cold-blooded manner on September 5th 2024 during a cult rivalry between members of the Black-axe and the Eiye confraternity in the State.

Cult rivalries between the two most dreaded groups in the country involving members of the Black-axe confraternity and the Eiye confraternity had dangerously been raging on for several months unabated in the state as the numbers of casualties from cult clashes recorded so far increased to over 1000.

Sadly Upper Sakponba community known as the breeding ground for all forms of criminality and cultism, remains the epicenter of all cult clashes in the state as bright hopes and aspirations of youths with promising prospects in life have been tragically truncated by violent cult clashes while members of Black-axe confraternity are yet again drawn into another eternal battle of supremacy with the Eiye confraternity in Edo State, it was gathered.

Deaths recorded from recent cult clashes have however increased with the gruesome murder of Austin 99 and others by members of the Black-axe who stormed his community on September 5th 2024.

According to information made available, armed cultists stormed his community where they invaded his apartment and fired gunshots at him from the entrance of his door as he attempted to escape .

It was however gathered that prior to the attack Usiosefe Esosa who had gone inside his cousin’s room on the order of Austin 99 to bring his phone while returning with the phone instantly witnessed the cultists fired gunshots at his cousin .

Usiosefe Esosa immediately ran back through an exit-back door leading to the backyard where he was chased after by his cousin’s killers but were unsuccessful in their attempts as he ran and escaped through some uncompleted building behind his cousin’s house, it was gathered .

Usiosefe Esosa was said to have managed to escape the murder scene leaving behind the scary memories of his cousin being shot dead by the cultists but obviously unaware that the dreaded killers of his cousin were still on his trail as he had seen their faces and was fully aware of their identities.

A week after his cousin’s murder, with so much scores to settle within the members of the late Austin 99 family including Usiosefe Esosa as the prime witness to his cousin’s murder, the killers again struck at his family house, unknown to him that they had trailed him down to his family house in Arbico Street in Upper Sakponba community, where he was living with his aged mother, in order to tie every loose ends to the murder of September 5th involving Austin 99, it was confirmed.

Having narrowly escaped the killers of his cousin this time at his own family house by running away through a bush-path, his cousin’s killers angrily unleashed terror of unimaginable magnitude on his aged mother by inflicting her with injuries to demonstrate the extent of their cruelty .

His mother while in pains was told that Usiosefe Esosa(her son) would never leave to tell what was coming to him as every pictures and details of him had gone viral across the country on the platform of Black-axe confraternity adding that he had been marked for death irrespective of him running into hiding to seek refuge elsewhere., it was gathered.

At the time of filling in this report, the whereabouts of Usiosefe Esosa was said to be unknown to anyone in the community as his aged mother was said to have been immediately taken to an undisclosed hospital for urgent medical attention.
