Eagle eyed operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Sikiru Tanimowo for allegedly kidnapping a four-year old boy at the Okokomaiko area of Lagos.
Narrating how the suspect was arrested, the Lagos State Police Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal said information was received from a credible source that a man was seen moving around Otun Market Square in a suspicious manner, holding the little boy in his hand.
Based on the information, operatives of the command attached to Okokomaiko Division, moved swiftly to the location and arrested the 37 year old suspect.
Edgal said, “ After his arrest, the suspect later led detectives to the location where he picked the child, thus, the police were able to locate his parents who said that they have been looking for the child and have never met the suspect before.”
The Police Commissioner said the case is currently under investigation with a view to prosecuting the suspect in the court of law. Meanwhile, the child has been reunited with his parents.
