LASG taskforce nabs 16-year-old Togolese land grabber, three others in Lagos.

A 16-year-old Togolese, Segun Sunday, has been arrested by the Lagos State Government Task Force for his alleged involvement in land grabbing activities in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.

The suspect who was arrested alongside three others – Ben Micheal, 31, Segun Muda 58 and Toheeb Oladele 20 – were arrested with two locally made pistols amongst other dangerous weapons.

The Daily Times gathered that the arrest of the four suspects was sequel to a petition submitted to the Lagos State Committee on Land Grabbers by the people of Oko-Olomi Golf Course area of Ibeju-lekki, Lagos.

The petition which was subsequently copied to Lagos State Police Command was directed to the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, for immediate action.

SP Egbeyemi who led the operatives of the Agency stormed the area on Christmas Day and arrested the four land grabbers in whose possession.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, after well briefed about the arrest directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos for further interrogations.

“I am using this opportunity to urge members of the public to report any activities of land grabbers to the Lagos State Committee on Land Grabbers. The war on the activities of land grabbers is still on-going and we will not relent in our effort to make our society a better place,” he assure.

While the group leader, Mr. Muda, refused to say anything others made a passionate appeal to the government for forgiveness. They also disclosed that it was a cartel.
