Lagosians are groaning under the APC govt – Babatunde Gbadamosi

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the October 31 by-election in Lagos East senatorial district, Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi has said that the people of Lagos state have not been better off under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
Rather than improving the lives of Lagosians, the politician said “The people are groaning under the heavy socio-economic burden created by the APC.”
Gbadamosi spoke to our correspondent on Tuesday at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja after obtaining his expression of interest and nomination forms.
He bitterly expressed disappointment in the way past and present APC administrations have dealt with the people of Lagos East senatorial district.

Gbadamosi said the senatorial district has been bedeviled with poor representation which was responsible for the lack of social and infrastructural developments in Epe, Ikorodu, Shomolu, and Ibeju-Lekki among other parts of the district.
“The problem in Lagos is for a long time since the First Republic started. It has been a problem of quality representation except for a short four years term that was served by one of our senators from Ikorodu.
“Be rest assured, Lagos state is for PDP now. People have doubts before, APC took over at the federal level. Now that they are at the federal level it is clear that they have nothing to offer.
“Nothing but what I called squeeze-economy. They squeeze people as much as possible. The Uber drivers, the taxi drivers, bolt drivers, dispatch riders, and everybody is affected by evil policies of APC designed purely to exploit as much as they can from the people. They have added very little in terms of value.
“To put it politely, as far as Lagos people are concerned, APC is a useless party. They bring no value to the people of Lagos state. Since they came into power at the federal level they have devalued the lives of Nigerians and the lives of Lagosians.
“As far as Lagosians are concerned, it is time for the APC to park and go. That is what we will be working on as soon as we get to the Senate over the next two or three years”, he said.
He expressed confidence that the PDP will win the by-election and go ahead to win the next Lagos State governorship election.
“We will win this election. PDP will win this senatorial election. Entertain no doubt. The election would be won by PDP, and PDP will also win Lagos in 2023. I have no doubt about it”, he asserted.
