Lagos Police community relations holds conference

In a bid to improve and maintain relationship and synergy between the Nigerian police and members of the public, the lagos state police community relations committee, (PCRC) has stage the 2017 Edition of it bi-annual conference on community policing ,with the theme: “promoting public Partnership on Community security.”
The conference, was attended by police Community relation association all over lagos State was held at the national Theatre,Iganmu lagos State.
Speaking at the event, the state commissioner of police, Edgar Imohimi commended the role of the police relations committee for it Collaboration in maintain peace,and fostering harmony between the citizenry and the force in the State.
Edgar added that the PCRC was important to the success of his administration which Inform his physical present at the event and called for more synergy and renewed commitment towards fighting Crime in the state.
Earlier In his welcome address, the chairman of PCRC lagos command, Oba momodu Afolabi Asafa said the conference was an avenue through which the PCRC can Play it Social responsibility roles of examining contemporary Security challenges and offering solution for the benefit of the Society.
Oba momodu called for Professionalism among Security expert, stresing that the much talked about community Policing can only be achieved If practitioner’s are focused on the goals of PCRC.
Also speaking, PCRC deputy national chairman South, mrs Adesola Adebutu kesington stressed that PCRC was vital and had played a key role in the sustenance of peace and security in States across the country, while advocating for more support for the police force, to enable them effectively fight Crime and other Social Vices in the Country.
In his Paper presentation, on the topics: “police community relation commitee in the next generation were are we?” SP fayomi Solomon Adebayo traced the history of the PCRC and it activities, and called for the admission of members from all strata of the Society, while the PCRC forms should be given free to intending members.
