Kogi PDP Primary: Dino Melaye to fly ticket for November guber poll

Senator Dino Melaye, who represented Kogi West at the National Assembly, has been elected to fly the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November Governorship election.
The state’s governorship election is scheduled for November 11 2023.
He defeated other other aspirants by scoring 313 votes, and was followed by Jibrin Usman , who polled 127 votes.
Chairman of the PDP Primary Election Committee, Senator Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi, who declared the results on Sunday at end of the indirect primary held at the the Farak Event Centre, Lokoja., said the exercise was peaceful, credible and transparent.

Other contestants include the former Deputy Governor of the state, Yomi Awoniyi who scored 77 votes and the PDP governorship candidate in 2019 Governorship election, Engr Musa Wada, who got 56 votes.
