Kano IPMAN directs members to halt sale of fuel

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Kano State branch, has directed its members to desist from buying petroleum products from any other source, except the Federal government to avoid falling into the traps of Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

The body took this decision as a result of the DPR’s decision to shut down some filling stations in the state while some marketers products were distributed free of charge to consumers.

According to the group’s chairman, Alh. Bashir Dan Mallam, the Federal Government is not being fair to them as it had failed to sell to them the products, which they were willing to sell at the government’s price, but when they buy from other sources it became a problem, and that all efforts to get the products from the government had proved a bit difficult.

He said their members must as a matter of fact stop buying the products from other sources that were willing to sell the products to them above government price as the DPR had intensified efforts at arresting and prosecuting any person found selling above government price.
