JTF bans oil black marketers in Plateau

The Joint Military Task Force in Plateau State, code name Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), on Thursday, banned all illegal form of sales of petroleum products within Jos and Bukuru Area of Plateau State.
In a statement issued by OPSH Media and Information Officer, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, it stated that “ban is hereby placed forthwith on all forms of road side and illegal sale of petroleum products in Jos and Bukuru metropolis. All persons who have in their stock or possession of petroleum products are given the next 24 hours effective 1200hrs Wednesday 23 March to 1200hrs 24 March 2016 to dispose of them or return them to petrol stations for custody. Additionally, illegal marketers operating around the vicinity of the NNPC mega station, under the overhead bridge, other nooks and crannies within the metropolis are equally served eviction notices”.
It was further stated that the resolution was taken at the end of heads of security agencies meeting, held at the Headquarters of OPSH and had resolved that compulsory seizure would commence by security operatives at the expiration of the ultimatum.
However, in preparation to the Easter celebration, OPSH embarked on a combined show of force parade in the early hours of Thursday 24 March 2016. The parade was aimed at sending a warning signal to hoodlums who would want to take advantage of the Easter season to foment trouble, that there would not be room for them as the JTF was committed to ensuring a hitch free celebration.
