Ishaku inspects COVID-19 isolation facilities, frowns at state of ventilator

Taraba state Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku on Thursday, embarked on an inspection tour to see for himself the COVID-19 facilities and isolation center located at the Specialist Hospital, Jalingo, the state capital.

Governor Ishaku, who expressed satisfaction over the state of the isolation center located at the Specialist Hospital, Jalingo, however, expressed dismay over one of the ventilators saying, it wasn’t working properly.
He directed the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Innocent Vakkai, who doubles as the chairman COVID-19 task force in the state to contact the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) for a replacement.
Ishaku further called on the citizens of the state to be patient with the lockdown situation, saying it is for the good of the state and assured that he is at alert in making sure that everything is in place to keep the state safe from the pandemic.

He urged Tarabans to always abide by the directives given by the state government and the COVID-19 committee by washing their hands with water and soap or sanitizer, maintain social distancing and no handshakes with anyone among others.
Daily Times reports that on the entourage of the governor was the Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Anthony Jellason and other top government functionaries.
