We’re investigating murder of Falae’s guard – Police

Police in Ondo State has said that they are still investigating the murder of a security guard, identified as Ayodele Ige, guarding the farm of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, in Ilado, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Femi Joseph, who spoke to some journalists confirmed the attack and death of Mr. Ige which occurred last week at the Ilado farm of the erstwhile former Secretary to Government of the Federation.

Joseph said the command was yet to verify if those who perpetrated the dastardly act are fulani nomadic herdsmen who had been troubling farmers in their land for the past one year.

The Police spokesman disclosed that men of the Nigerian Police Force from the State command are already on the trail of the marauders purportedly taking cover at the outskirts of the town.

“We cannot tell now whether they are Fulani herdsmen or not, when we get them we will know what ethnic group they belonged” Joseph said.

He added that the police had already provided security for the elder statesman as the search for the attacks continued in the State.
