Iniobong Umoren: Uduak Akpan killer of Akwa-Ibom jobseeker attempts to escape after sentencing

After receiving a death sentence from the Akwa-Ibom state high court on Tuesday, Uduak Akpan, the convicted killer of an Akwa-Ibom jobseeker, tries to flee.

Uduak Akpan, the initial defendant in the murder of Akwa Ibom job seeker Iniobong Umoren, was given a death by hanging sentence, which caused uncertainty in the Ibom State High Court.

Shortly after the trial judge, Justice Bassey Nkanang, pronounced the verdict, Akpan made an attempt to flee.

According to our correspondent, the cops had to step in to stop the attempted escape.

In response to the two charges of murder and rape that were brought against the defendant, he was given a death by hanging and life sentence, DailyTimesNGR gathered.

Although they were on trial for being an accessory after the fact to murder, his sister Anwan Bassey and father Frank Akpan (the second and third accused) were released from custody and found not guilty by the court.
