Coronavirus was first reported to the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a pneumonia of unknown cause in Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019.

WHO declared a global health emergency on January 30, 2020, and then declared the COVID-19 virus a pandemic on March 12.

Countries around the world sent their populations into social and economic lockdown in order to control the spread.

So far more than 1.8 million cases have been confirmed, and at least 113,000 people have died.

Non-essential businesses are closed; many commercial flights have been suspended; sporting events,

festivals and concerts cancelled: world leaders are telling everybody, where they can, to stay home. Our lives as we knew them have utterly changed.
