Ikorodu indigenes assure of continuous support for Lagos govt
The Chairman of the 2018 Ikorodu Oga Day, Mr. Oluwaseun Temitayo Jaiyesimi hinted that Ikorodu has assured the government of Lagos State that the people of Ikorodu will continue to support it by pooling its resources together for the purpose, just as he expressed the belief in governments continued support in attainment of the socio economic development for the entire Ikorodu people.
Jaiyesimi who spoke during the grand finale of the 2018 Ikorodu Oga Day, noted that, “A united people are an unstoppable people, for in unity there is a congruence of ideas, goals and efforts in realising set objectives
and only when achieved can Ikorodu become a moving force that cannot be stooped,” assured that the people of Ikorodu will continue to unite towards its development.
He also challenged all sons and daughters of Ikorodu to rally round Ikorodu to ensure unusual development.
Speaking at the grand finale of the week-long event, which witnessed series of various events with the climax at the palace of HRM Oba Kabir Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Mr. Jaiyesimi, GMD/ CEO of DW Realtors Limited, one of Nigeria’s frontline real estate group,
posited that the history of Ikorodu was as rich as the enviable track record of its illustrious sons and daughters who not only excelled in their chosen careers be it in the academia, public service / government, politics, business, manufacturing etc but have also left their footprints for all to see.
Jaiyesimi while speaking on the theme of the 27th Ikorodu Oga Day celebration tagged “Cultural Values as a Catalyst to Socio Economic Development,” stated that culture which accounts for a people’s way of life, should aid development and make life easier and more meaningful in any given society.
Furthermore he said the theme underpins the role expected of all stakeholders in Ikorodu and beyond in fully harnessing social capital with government support and intervention to better the life of its people.
