Ikeja LG boss, Balogun provides free face mask for council residents


In a bid to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Dr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun has produced and provided face masks in large quantities to the people of Ikeja as well as community stakeholders.
This is coming after the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the ‘Mask-up Lagos campaign’, noting that considering the fact that lockdown will be relaxed in Lagos State with effect from May 4, 2020, there is a need to follow up on the ‘Mask up Lagos campaign’ as it has now been made mandatory for all Lagosians to move about with their face mask.

According to a release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Anuoluwa Openiyi, Dr. Mojeed Balogun has always been in the forefront in the fight against COVID-19 since the beginning of the outbreak in the state.
He recalled that the council Mayor produced hand sanitizers for the people of Ikeja community, adding that the production of face masks by the Council Chairman is another laudable move in the fight against further spread of the pandemic disease.
”It is very imperative for us to have our face mask at each and every point in time, and wherever we go to. This is one of the ways through which we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community,” said the Council Chairman.
The face masks produced was however presented to community stakeholders who includes; police community, community associations, market associations, youth community as well as other members of the community.
Face masks numbering tens of thousands which is expected to be distributed across the six wards of Ikeja LGA were also presented to Ikeja APC party Chairman, Alhaji Dally Adeokun.
