Igbo group lauds Gani Adams as Aare Ona Kakanfo designate

The Igbo Youth Congress (IYC) has lauded the nomination of Otunba Gani Adams as Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland designate, urging him to deploy his position to further unite the Yoruba and Igbo people.
“Chief Gani Adams deserves the new position as Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land,” the Igbo group said.
In a statement signed by the IYC President, Mr. Bright Ezeocha, and made available to Daily Times, the group said that the nomination of Otunba Gani Adams by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi represents a rare feat which deserves commendation.
According to Ezeocha, “Chief Gani Adams has done a lot for humanity for the past two decades, he has been promoting Yoruba culture across the world. He is an asset to humanity, a good friend of Ndigbo, and we congratulate him on his conferment with the new title of Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.”
According to the Igbo Youth Congress, Otunba Gani Adams started his carrier as defender of human rights at a very tender age and that that he has not given up the crusade in over two decades of philanthropic human and community development initiatives.
Urging the younger generation to learn from the accomplishments and experiences of Otunba Gani Adams, the IYC president said “we in the IYC have course to work with him at different levels and found him to be courageous man. He is highly disciplined. He is conscientious and bold and we urge him to use his position to further unite the
Yoruba and the Igbo people at this critical period of Nigeria’s history.”
Describing the enthronement of Otunba Adams as Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land as golden opportunity for youth of the country and Yoruba land in particular, Ezeocha said “it is a period that younger people in Nigeria have hope.
We want other institutions to learn from what the Alaafin of Oyo has done. He has recognized the energy and contributions of younger people to the advancement f democracy, Justice and the fight for freedom; we wish Chief Gani Adams success.”
