I have a serious crush on Yemi Alade- Fast new act, Kaydex reveal

Fast rising musician Kayode Micheal Fayehun better known as Kaydex is one of the new budding act in the industry with a distinctive flow of lyrics and stage presence; he is sure one act to watch out for. As a songwriter, Kaydex infuses African lyrics in his sound depicting his originality at all time. Having released his first single titled ‘Egwueji’ as produced by Fliptyce; in this chat with SOREMUKUN GBEMISOLA & AYO EDEMA, he bares it all on how it all started.
How did your music career start?
My music career started with high interest of listening to good music and that was how I got connected to it and I when I moved to the higher institutions I started recording, staying up in the studio with producers like Fliptyce and Kris beat. For me, music is in born.
Of all the music you’ve done, which one is your favourite?
God has been helping me in my music, I can’t really say which because all my music are good music, all are my favourite. I can only improve on my previous work so that I can match up with the reigning stars in the industry at the moment.
Why Music?
Music has always been a passion, the motivation back then was not as strong as now but as time passed, I realized I could do much more, music all the way
Do you think you have a lot to offer in music industry?
I have a lot to offer in the music industry, it’s growing daily and that’s good, it’s beginning to see prospect and partnership from the corporate world I hope it gets better
What your relationship with Dremo, Davido and HKN in major?
My relationship with the HKN Gang is mutual from distance…Met Davido couple of times and he’s been accommodating and I respect his hustle as a hardworking artist. I love every of their art. They are creative and they very ambitious…
The industry is blessed with lots of talent, who are those you look up to?
I will say Tuface, he’s like a godfather in the music industry, encouraging we the upcoming ones when it’s needed.
I grew up listening to his he has actually inspired me in so many ways when it comes to music. Wizkid is also in the list and I wish to work with him someday soon.
If you could change one thing about the industry, what would it be?
Well the fact that artists don’t see themselves as equal in the music industry, which is not supposed to be. Also would like to change the fake impression a lot of Nigerian artist try to give others. The so called “Packaging”
Which one started for you singing or rapping?
I really can’t say, both came in same time though
Any collaborations we should watch out for?
By God’s grace yes I will definitely do Collabo’s soon, infact I have something huge coming up pretty soon. Just keep your fingers crossed
What major challenge have you faced since you started music?
The challenge is being accepted, it’s a major setback I couldn’t figure out why it was like that at first but now I know it’s my time I will be fully accepted
Now that you are fast becoming popular how have you been coping with your fans especially the female ones?
Without my fans am nothing and it’s the female ones that constitute more fan base, I can’t ignore them but I stay focused always though
Five years from now where do you find yourself?
All the way you by God’s grace, I see myself as one of the major top ranking music artist across Africa
Do you have a crush on someone in the industry?
Hmm….. Let’s see… I have a huge crush on Yemi Alade apart from the fact that she’s sexy, cute, brave and beautiful, she has been very hardworking and so consistent in the music industry. I look forward won’t to collaboration with her someday.
If you had a chance to do an international collabo which artiste would it be?
Of course Chris Brown and Drake because have been a fan of both of them before now and always.
