All major roads leading to the Local Government Council have been locked down by Taroh Vanguard of Langtang North LGC of Plateau State.
The group vowed to resist the Plateau State government’s ongoing illegality and impunity in forcibly installing Barr. Zulfa Rimven of the APC as chairman of the council against a Jos high court judgment.
Hundreds of people from various political parties blocked Langtang/Shendam and Langtang/Jos roads, waving APC, PDP, ADP, and YPP flags, demanding that Governor Lalong allow the rule of law to prevail in Langtang North LGA as soon as possible by directing the State Commissioner of Police to allow Hon. Joshua Laven and his deputy, Hon. Daniel Balbong, as well as the counsellors, to resume duty.

As affirmed by a court of competent jurisdiction, Hon. Joshua Laven was sworn in by Governor Lalong in 2019 for three years as the duly elected Langtang North council chairman under the PDP platform and should stay in office till October 2022.
The group demanded that Barr. Zulfa Rimven quit posing as the chairman of Langtang North LGC, warning that any effort to sign official papers or conduct business on behalf of Langtang North LGC would be unlawful and unconstitutional.
According to the convener and coordinator of Taroh Vanguard, Boniface Ndam, the governor should be held accountable for any bloodshed on Taroh territory as a result of his attempt to impose Zulfa Rimven on the people.
