Group endorses Obetta as Nsukka/ Igboeze South Federal constituency candidate

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Nsukka Igboeze South Rescue Movement has endorsed Chief Chidi Obeta to contest the Nsukka/Igboeze South House of Representative election under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Spokesman of the group, Comrade Igboke Onyebuchi in a statement made available to journalists said the endorsement was as a result of the request by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to the group to scout for a candidate from Nsukka LGA for the position.

“This task by the governor was handed over to us on the 24th of August 2018 as a result of our protest to the Government House over the poor representation of Hon. Pat Asadu and his anti-people desire for a 4th term bid.

According to the statement, “We have found in Obetta a man worthy to give Nsukka Igboeze South Federal constituency quality representation at the National Assembly.

“Though there are other qualified aspirants from Nsukka LGA for the same seat, we to settle for Obetta based on his genuine desire to ameliorate the sufferings of his people.

“Chief Obetta is the only aspirant that has toured the 36 wards in Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency to identify their key needs.

“He has putting in place a working plan for the development of the constituency. Obetta is an aspirant who has the capacity to win the PDP primary election.

“We are appealing to all the PDP delegates of Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency to shun every form of monetary inducement and vote for a man who has lived most of his life in solving the needs of others through various means such as scholarship to indigent youths, financial support and also job creation for the people.

“Based on this endorsement, we have commenced talks with other aspirants from Nsukka LGA to solicit support for Chidi Obetta in the forthcoming PDP primary election.

The group thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for the privilege given to them to endorse a candidate; they restated their commitment to work for the re-election of the governor come 2019 general elections.
