In his words “It is hard to overstate Governor Obiano’s popularity in Anambra, the state under his watch has witnessed a true rebirth. Governor Obiano’s stock has remained undimmed through the course of his administration. Yet his second term bid will also highlight the changing dynamics of the relationship between the state and rest of the country that has been saddled with the arduous task of improving economic fortunes, certainly Anambra is making a big play for prominence in Nigeria.”
Describing Anambra as a state of investment, Mr. Chuma noted that “Anambra, under Willie Obiano’s led government is globally fluent, has 21st-century connectivity and an impressive pool of human capital. It’s a view echoed by millons of discernible people of the state. As we dance to the rhythms of the ongoing election campaigns, let’s be cautious of our choices. Let’s be mindful of the choices we make. We should elect to stand on the side of truth, we should not endorse the choices made by questionable characters who claims Anambra is their personal estate.”
He however urged Anambra people to ensure their maximum support to the governor to enhance and solidify his numerous blueprints for the state.
Presenting the book, the author, Mr. Ngozi Emedolibe revealed that “Portrait of Performance highlights the reality that the administration has deployed its developmental energy towards some enabling projects, with an ultimate aim of improving the economy of the state for the general well being of the people. The Obiano administration did not just build roads, or empower communities to undertake projects of the choice but did so with the aim of positively impacting the populace. Take for instance, the issue of paying salaries promptly, this has a direct effect of keeping afloat the local economy, considering the fact that the workers at all levels will still spend the money in Anambra to reflate the system.”
Mr. Emedolibe condemned the in strong terms the desperation of members of some political parties whose stock in trades were to destabilize the polity and ignite crisis to thwart the peace in the state.
