Group blames FG over rumours on establishment of FCE in Jama’are

A pressure group known as Misau Integrated Union and Civil Society Organisation (MIUSO) has blamed the Presidency over false media reports that President Muhammadu has approved the establishment and location of a Federal College of Education in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi state.

Chairman of the group, Muhammad Misau, who spoke to the press in Bauchi on Monday, said if the president had signed the bill as passed by the Senate on time, the unfortunate misinformation would not have arisen.

“The needless delay in signing the approval of the Senate by President Muhammadu Buhari with regards to the establishment and allocation of the federal college of education in Misau and others is what must have given birth to this fake reports by some selfish persons,” Misau opined.

The group said if such unpatriotic actions are not checked, it is capable of causing problem in the education sector.

The group which said it does not want to lose confidence in the federal government that claims to stand by the rule of law in all its dealings, wondered why it has taken so long to sign a bill initiated by Senator Isah Misau which was approved by the Senate in 2018.

“We want to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to initiate an investigation into this matter with a view to finding the architects of the purported fake letter and punish them accordingly, to serve as deterrent to others.

“We equally, urge Mr. President to expedite action on the decision of the Senate which has allocated the federal institution to Misau to avoid unnecessarily heating up the polity,” Misau said.

He said that the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has been known for his transparency and stance for the truth and as someone who would not take what belongs to Misau and give it to others.

The group which expressed delight that the report has been faulted, vowed to seek redress in court, should President Buhari delay or site the institution at a different place other than Misau.

Also speaking, Alhaji Mohammed Misau, called on President Buhari to put to usage, his promise to adhere to the rule of law.

“When the President took over in 2015, he said that I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody. In this case, he ought to have ordered for the quick take-off of the institution,” he said.
