Grooming centre, Fortis receive CPP’s certification

The Fortis Micro Finance Bank and the grooming center, financial grooming company, have respectively received Client Protection Principles’ (CPP) Certification, in recognition of the firms’ commitment towards enhancing customers’ fortunes.
The certificates’ presentation ceremony hosted by Micro Rate Smart Campaign, was held at the Georges Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, last Thursday.
Camille Haubert, Analysts, Africa and Asian Countries Micro Rate presented the certificates, which was received by Tiko Okoye, CEO, Fortis Micro Finance bank and Dr. Godwin Nwabunka, CEO, Grooming Centre, for his organization.
The Grooming Centre and Fortis Microfinance Bank Plc became the first and second micro financial institutions in Nigeria to get the prestigious Micro Rate and Smart Campaign of USA’s Customer Protection Principle (CPP) certification, 2nd in Africa and 16th in the entire world.

The best practices, he said also consists of relationship with clients, adding that most the institutions are using the processes that are not customer friendly.
Dr Godwin Nwabunka, CEO, the Grooming Center told Daily Times Nigeria in an interview shortly after receiving the certificate in Lagos, that the certificate represents a stamp of approval on the firm and Fortis, the two organizations bestowed with the accreditation.
“The certification is a seal that everything we do is in the best interest of the client in terms of products and services and hat everything that we are doing in this direction does not do any harm to the client. The best interest of the client is streamlined in what we do.
“ it is a seal of approval, just like you saying’ you are customer centric organization’ implementing the best practices in terms of mechanism, disclosure and delivering better services because of your relationship with clients.

Camille Haubert, of the Smart campaign, shortly before she presented the certificates to the two companies said that staff and management of the Grooming center were found to be excellent, because sustained training of staff and continually raising their awareness always impact positively on their customers.
“Grooming center not only address customers’ complaints, but also improves their deliveries. Grooming center has been transparent and efficient during the certification exercise” she said.
Fortis MFB was granted a national microfinance banking license in 2015 with the clear mandate to open shops in all 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital territory. The bank currently has a presence in not less than 22 states plus FCT.
While the Grooming Center, which has applied for banking license as a Micro finance bank, may also emerge soon as a Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) licensed MFB.
