Gov Obiano inaugurates Anambra security trust fund

Governor Willie Obiano has continued to intensify measures to ensure sustainability in the State’s security strides recorded since his administration.

This was unveiled when the Governor inaugurated a thirteen man Board of trustees for Anambra State Security Trust Fund, at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Gov Obiano disclosed that security would remain top of his administrative will, as it had been the wheel that drives other meaningful developments.

The Governor urged members of the board to deploy their wealth of knowledge and connections and attract funds to drive the security apparatus of the state.

He charged private sector to embrace the vision of the present administration in fighting insecurity, as security remained the responsibility of everyone.

It would be recalled that Governor Obiano on assumption of office called for the first Security Summit in July, 2014, as well as the South East Security Summit.

Also to remember is that Governor Obiano made Security first among his administrative enablers that drive the vision and mission of the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof, Solo Chukwulobelu, noted that their primary objective was to raise funds through voluntary donations from private and companies so as to support the efforts of the state government in providing adequate security.

Prof. Solo advised the board to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the funds.

The Chairman of the Trust Fund Board, Chief Anyaegbu, expressed gratitude to the government on the inauguration and observed that no meaningful life without security.

Anyaegbu, who is also the CEO Chisco Transport company, recalled his previous huge investment in security to support the present administration. He promised to deliver in order to sustain the tempo of security in the state.

Other members of the board include former Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi; Chief Chikodi Anarah; Chief Innocent Chukwuma and Chief G.U Okeke.

Others are Professor Solo Chukwulobelu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Primus Odili; Retired General Chioba; Chief J.O Ukeje; Chief Emeka Offor and Chief Cletus Ibeto.
