Gov Akeredolu delivers for Atiku Abubakar in Ondo – OMG

The Ondo State Mandate Group (OMG) has accused Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the State All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairman, Ade Adetimehin of delivering the State to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly Election in the country.

The Group led by its General Secretary, Ibrahim Sikiru and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Olugbenga Bojuwomi told journalists at the party National Secretariat on Thursday that: “It was evidently clear that the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Ondo APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin have no regards for the APC Leadership and the Presidency”.

According to Bojuwomi, “The duo have fought President Buhari to a stand-still in Ondo-State. We hereby call for the immediate dissolution of Ondo APC Exco’s, which has become Governor Akeredolu’s stooge since its inauguration. Appropriate sanctions should be meted on the governor and the party chairman, if truly APC would still have the grasp of Ondo-State, because right now, the State is virtually a PDP State”.

The Ondo-State mandate group and other sister groups expressed sadness over what they described as ‘total disregard’ for the voices of the good people of the State as the Presidency and APC National Headquarters turned deaf ears to all protest over the antecedent and gross misconduct of Governor Akeredolu in Ondo APC.

“We have raised several allegations against Mr. Governor, the pockets of violence that were recorded in his home-town (Owo) on the election day against APC loyalists confirmed our allegations. While voting, Governor Akeredolu was sited voting for PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s and his Action Alliance (AA) National Assembly Candidates, that is why AA won in his unit and local government respectively.

“It is clear that few APC Stalwarts are loyal to APC and Mr. President in Ondo-State, going by the trend of the election result, it was obvious that Senator Ajayi Boroffice is a strongman of Ondo politics, despite the huddle, rigor and threat from the governor toward the Senator’s re-election bid.

“Video evidence where the Ondo APC Chairman-Engr. Ade Adetimehin was visibly campaigning for all his AA Candidates are everywhere on Social Media and a copy has also been sent to the National Chairman of our party Comrade Adams Oshiomhole”.

The group further stated that letters and petitions were written up till 19th February, 2019 to the Presidency and APC Leadership on all anti-party activities on the part of Akeredolu and Ondo-State APC Chairman Adetimehin which yielded no results.

“The peak of it was when Akeredolu started relating with PDP Presidential Campaign Organization where huge sum of money was released to him for the actualization of winning Ondo-State for Atiku Abubakar from a South-West business mogul and PDP financier.

“Some revelations got to the Presidency and APC National Chairman- Comrade Adams Oshiomhole that on the 4th October, 2018, this group revealed how Gov. Akeredolu is destroying APC by creating faction called Aketi group and using Ondo NURTW to actualize it. This divided the perfect circle of Ondo APC into segments and further disintegrated the party called APC in the State.

“On the 4th December, 2018, Ondo APC Solidarity Group confirmed how Gov. Akeredolu whipped up sentiments and gang up against the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari alongside some APC Governors from the South-West and South-East and on 31st January, 2019, a petition was sent to the Presidency, IGP and APC National Chairman, against some evil plans of Gov. Akeredolu to stock fire-arms and mobilize some cultists and NURTW members to disrupt the process of election in favor of his AA National Assembly Candidates and Atiku Abubakar Presidential bid.

“The last was a press statement and protest at the APC Headquarters in Abuja on 19th February, 2019, held where the group confirmed the appointment of Gov. Akeredolu as Atiku Abubakar’s Campaign DG; mobilizing huge support for Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential bid and all his AA National Assembly Candidates, alleging that, “logistics given to Governor Akeredolu from Abuja was used against all the APC Candidates, including President Buhari in the State”.
