Goje in dilemma over many APC guber aspirants in Gombe

The many number of aspirants seeking the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State is giving party leaders, especially former governor, Senator Danjuma Goje, sleepless nights mainly because his camp of the New Peoples Democratic Party (n-PDP) is divided as to whether they should continue to stay in the APC.
According informed sources in the state, Goje is worried of what awaits his political future in view of his earlier boast that he is the one to install the next governor of the state after the incumbent, Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo, in 2019.
On his side, Governor Dankwambo has often said that the question of who succeeds him in office depends on God and the people of Gombe State and his stand has created an unusual calmness in the camp of Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Reliable sources say that the PDP faithful are patiently waiting for Dankwambo to give a signal before governorship aspirants would begin to show up as the ruling party has remained focused in delivering the mandate they hold through Dankwambo.
The sources said that deceived by Dankwambo’s unassuming disposition, Goje has been boasting that he would produce the next governor of the state, claiming also that with federal might on his side, whoever he nominates as APC candidate, would surely become governor of Gombe next year.
Accordingly, the sources said that Goje’s boast has succeeded in throwing the state chapter of the APC into turmoil with some aspirants jostling to win the attention and support of the former governor.
At the last count, more than seven governorship aspirants have been circulating around Senator Goje, with each going about with the notion that if election was held today, they were sure to become the next governor.
Some of these aspirants include Inuwa Yahaya, Habu Muazu, Dan Barde, Barrister Idris Hinna, Sarki Fulani, Faruk Bamusa, Dasuki Jalo Waziri and Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo Waziri.
