Glo Rallies Support for Flying Eagles

National telecommunications company, Globacom, has declared support for the Flying Eagles ahead of the forthcoming 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled to hold in New Zealand.

In a press statement in Lagos on Thursday, Globacom stated that the Flying Eagles need maximum support from Nigerians in their quest to winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the first time.

“Our focus from the onset should be on securing qualification ticket from the group, thus ensuring that the team moves to the quarter finals from where they can compete for medals,” the company said.

“We urge the Flying Eagles to give good account of themselves as the reigning African Champions. They should make Nigeria and Africa proud during the competition by winning the trophy,” the statement added.

The Telecoms Company therefore advised the team to play top grade friendly matches and work very hard to ensure that the team remain in shape ahead of the competition.

The Flying Eagles are presently on a training tour of Germany ahead of the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled to hold in New Zealand between May 30 and June 20, 2015.

“We want to assure the team that Nigerians are behind them to succeed in the task ahead.” the statement concluded.

The quartet of Nigeria, Senegal, Mali and Ghana emerged as Africa representatives at the last African Youth Championship in Senegal and will fly the continent’s flag in New Zealand.

Globacom is a major partner of the Nigeria Football Federation and official sponsor of Nigeria national teams.
