
…As party promises employment through agriculture and industrialization
John Odigie Oyegun, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the people of Ondo state to vote the party’s candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu, in the November 26th 2016 governorship election in the state.
Mr. Oyegun said the people should ensure they mobilize from their various political units and ensure they canvass for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to win the gubernatorial election.
He spoke on Thursday at the flag off campaign of the party in Akure, held at the democracy park amidst cheering crowd of supporters who besieged the venue of the event.
Mr. Oyegun said the party was ready to take over power from the incumbent government of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko in Ondo state adding that the people should ensure their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) are ready to effect change.
“We don’t want the APC to remain as opposition in Ondo state and that is why you must get your PVCs and come out en masse to vote for APC in the November 26, 2016 governorship election” he said.
According to him, the Ondo state governorship election is very important to the leaders of the party at the national level adding that the change at the federal level can only be replicated if the people comes out en mass and vote for Mr. Akeredolu in the poll.
He said that the party was prepared to secure hundred percent vote for his candidate [Rotimi Akeredolu] in the governorship election in order to move from the stage of opposition party to the ruling party in the government of Ondo state.
The National Chairman who averred that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the Ondo state governorship election asked the party leaders in the state to ensure hardwork and dedication are given priority in its campaign rally.
He pleaded with the electorates that the government of the APC in Ondo state would ensure the dividence of democracy and give room for transparency if elected into the administration of the state.
Earlier, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South, Mr. Segun Oni, asked the people of the state to get their Permanent Voters Cards.
Mr. Oni told the people to ensure they vote for Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu in Ondo state in order to experience change and good governance.
The APC Governorship candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu, promised to provide jobs for the unemployed in the state adding that empowerment and industrialization would also be given priority in his government.
Mr. Akeredolu said the government of the APC would give agriculture a priority and also create more local government areas if elected in the November election.
Gbenga Elegbeleye, the Director General of the National Sport Commission and former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led corps of defectors of the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the event.
The Daily Times correspondent reported that President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osibanjo were conspicuously absent at the flag off campaign ceremony.
But the Vice President, Osibanjo who was suppose to represent President Buhari sent the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal, to the event.
Chairman of the National Campaign Committee of the party and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, led Governors of Borno, Kashim Shettima, Ogun, Ibikunle Amosun, Sokoto, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Bauchi, Muhammed Abubakar to the flag off campaign ceremony.
