Gen. Abubakar to Politicians: Give Peace a Chance
Former military ruler, General Abdulsalami Abubakar has urged politicians to give peace a chance.
He made the call shortly after leading a meeting of the National Peace Committee with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Aso Rock villa in Abuja.
“Jonathan has conceded defeat and called Buhari. All politicians should give peace a chance,” Abubakar told State House reporters after the meeting.
Also at the meeting were the president of the Aliko Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Mrs Priscilla Kuye; Primate of the Anglican Communion, Nicholas Okoh; former Chief of General Staff, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe; and Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Onaiyekan.
