Gbajabiamila inaugurates 3 ad hoc c’ttees

House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila on Monday inaugurated three ad hoc committees of the House.

The ad hoc committees are the selection committee chaired by the speaker, the committee on welfare chaired byRep. Wale Raji (APC/Lagos) and the committee on media chaired by Rep. Khadijat Bukar Abba-Ibrahim (APC/Yobe).

The speaker, who urged all the members interested in specific standing committees in which they have competence to submit their curriculum vitae for consideration.

Gbajabiamila, who was flanked by his deputy, Idris Wase during the inauguration of the three ad hoc committees, tasked members on the need to justify the trust and confidence reposed in them to serve in various steering committees for effective take-off of House legislative activities.

He observed that the inauguration of the three committees is a major phase critical to running the affairs of the House.

The terms of reference of the ad hoc committee on welfare include, the allocation of offices and chairs in the chambers to the 360 House members, putting into consideration their ranking status.

The speaker stressed the need for the timely conclusion of the various assignments by the three ad hoc committees ahead of the July 2 resumption date.

He explained that the allocation of offices and chamber seats would be carried by him and deputy speaker in line with House tradition.
