Gay Suspect In Custody Escapes As Angry Youth Threaten To Behead Him

Pandemonium erupted in Igogika Community in Edo State as angry youths besieged the community Police Station demanding that one Odide Zabayor be released to them for spiritual cleansing in the community.

Recall that Odide Zabayor was caught in the act of homosexual practice with another male in the community on March 30th 2024 as he managed to escape the angry mob by reporting himself at the police station where he was taken into custody.

Meanwhile, his partner, according to eyewitness account, was not so lucky as the angry youths lynched him to death while others who destroyed and burnt Odide Zabayor’s house went in his pursuit after he escaped to the police station..

According to an eyewitness account who pleaded anonymity, Odide Zabayor and his male partner were caught in the act by an unsuspecting neigbhour who raised an alarm in the commuinty over the sacriledge committed by the two males .

The two males we’re however dragged out of their apartment by the angry youths in the community who were determined to kill both of them by beheading prior to the sudden escape of Odide Zabayor.

Igogika community is traditionally known for performing spiritual cleansing of its community of any sacriledge by offering the decapitated head of any individual found to have desecrated the commuinty to ancestors in order to avert unending doom and calamities in the community .

However, the case of the protesting angry youths of Igogika to the community Police station was not any different as they demanded for his release to them but were surprisingly informed that the suspect had escaped from custody .

Meanwhile, a statement by the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police stated that one suspect Odide Zabayor who escaped a mob attack in Igogika community by running down to the station after he was caught in the act of homosexual practice with another male on 30th March 2024 has escaped from its custody.

The statement urged members of the public with useful information that could lead to his arrest to report at the station.

In Nigeria, violation of the Same-sex Prohibition Act attracts a minimum of 14-years imprisonment after conviction.
