Ganduje returns from Hajj, says “there is work to be done”

Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje returned to Nigeria Thursdqy from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he performed the Umrah or Lesser Hajj.

A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Youth and Culture, Malam Muhammad Garba says the governor arrived the country via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja hale and hearty.

Accordibg to the Commissioner, the Governor was received on his arrival by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Senator Barau Jibrin (Kano North), Chief Whip, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, others members of the National and state Assembly, commissioners and some top government officials.

The statement said that the governor’s gallant entry puts to rest rumours peddled by elements of the Kwankwasiyya faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that Governor Ganduje was in the Holy Land for a medical vacation.

It would be reecalled that the Governor embarked on the week long journey to the Kingdom where he performed the Umrah to thank God Almighty for the successful conduct of elections and to pray for Nigeria in general and Kano State in particular.

The statement added that the governor is expected to embark on many official engagements in preparation for his inauguration for the second term of his administration.
