Forty nine years old adult allegedly killed over family inheritance

The death of a 49 years old man, Adewale Junaid, as again led to accusations and counter-accusations between his family and their uncle, Samsondeen Olawale Kosoko, who was earlier accused of killing their mother, Mrs Adeezat Junaid in February this year and being the brain behind the kidnap attempts on their brother, Olasunkanmi Aremu Junaid after their mother’s death.

The mutilated and decomposing body of Adewale Junaid was discovered on December 23, 2024 by a passerby along the Lagos -Ibadan Expressway.

Speaking with our reporter, a close family member (name withheld) said that, they have every reasons to suspect their uncle as they believe he is the brain behind the tragic happenings in their family, saying that the root cause of the killings of his mother and brother, Adewale and the two attempted kidnap on his other brother, Olasunkanmi Aremu Junaid, was over properties inheritance between their late mother and his brother, Samsondeen Olawale Kosoko. As he( Kosoko) has on numerous occasions warned other family members not to share the disputed properties with him.

He said that the killing of Adewale is linked to the inheritance dispute, as Adewale was a torn in the flesh of Kosoko, just as their late mother was.

He also has said that the uncle has a lot to gain if Adewale is eliminated and lamented that he has done his worst.
The source also said that several reports made to the authorities on the previous killings and kidnapped attempts have not been treated well by the police as his uncle, Samsondeen Olawale Kosoko is an influential politician and businessman.

He said that they are now afraid as they don’t know what will happen next.
Attempts to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Lagos State Command…….. was unsuccessful as he was said to be out of town on official assignment.
