First Lady Advocates Balanced Discipline as Nursing Students Face Queries Over Chants

The Office of the First Lady of Nigeria has called for fairness and understanding after reports emerged that some students of the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences were issued queries over their chants during the First Lady’s visit to Delta State.
During the Renewed Hope Initiative’s donation of 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the South-South region, held at the Dome Event Centre in Asaba, students reportedly altered their welcome song in a playful manner. While the institution moved to discipline those involved, the Office of the First Lady acknowledged that youthful exuberance often manifests in lighthearted expressions.
“While we respect institutions’ rights to maintain discipline, it is important to recognize that students, in moments of excitement, often express themselves in a jovial manner,” the statement read.
