Firefighters escape mob attack in Ughelli

A firefighting team in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Council of Delta State, miraculously escaped lynching by a mob o for arriving late to the scene of a fire outbreak which razed a shop at the Otovwodo Junction Market.
The firefighters were prevented from gaining access to the scene of the fire by angry youths and started hauling different dangerous objects at the firefighters and their equipment.
“We don’t need you anymore. Go away lazy people,” the crowd yelled.
The embattled firefighters were just fortunate to escape the wrath of the blood thirsty mob.
Investigation by Daily Times later revealed that the fire outbreak emanated from an adulterated kerosene stored in one of stalls inside the market.
